The FIU Foundation set new records this year. These achievements are advancing the evolution of our great university and give us a new touchstone for the years to come. We are excited about where we are headed and proud of how we are getting there.
Earlier this year, we publicly launched Next Horizon: The Campaign for FIU. On January 26, some 1,500 members of the FIU family came to campus for our campaign kickoff, which included events showcasing the excellence of the university and the power of philanthropy. The $750 million campaign is the most ambitious fundraising endeavor in FIU history and represents the quality of our university and the pride that we all have in it.
Through this campaign, we are removing obstacles facing our students and helping our university reach new heights. We are strengthening and growing our leading-edge research programs that are developing solutions to global challenges. We are growing opportunities for scholarships and student support. We are advancing a vibrant and healthy South Florida community.
On this website, we share snapshots of the transformational philanthropy elevating our university and its profound effect on the lives of our students and the work of our faculty. Our progress to date – raising more than $512 million for the campaign by June 30, 2019 – is a testament to FIU’s role as an anchor institution in our community and our friends’ belief in our mission and impact. We are gratified and thankful for the overwhelming support we have received.
